  Holy Father, we have great reason to be humbled before you, on account of the coldness and insensitivity of our hearts to our own falling short of your glory and the prevalence of worldly affections within us that lead us to love the things of this world more than we love you. Too often have we indulged in thoughts, words and actions that should have been subdued and left your invitations to follow you, love you and love others unattended. O Lord, be merciful to us for your Son, Jesus Christ’s sake. Produce in us deep repentance and a living faith in our Savior who has died for our sins and risen again so we may be made right in your sight. AMEN.

1. YOUTH CAR WASH-A-THON FUNDRAISER
   On Saturday, July 19, our youth will be holding their annual FOL Youth Car Wash-a-thon — and we’d love your support! Many of you are already familiar with the Car Wash-a-thon and have generously sponsored our youth in the past — thank you! For those who are new: a Car Wash-a-thon is just like a jog-a-thon, but instead of laps, our youth are sponsored for each car they wash during a two-hour window. All funds raised go directly toward summer camp costs and camp scholarships. To sponsor our youth, click the link HERE — it’s quick, easy, and makes a big difference! Thank you for supporting our youth and investing in their growth!
   
   
2. WESTSIDE COMMUNITY PICKLEBALL EVENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
   We are excited to announce that through the work of our Westside Community Liaison, Connie Loggins, a grant was awarded to the Westside Promise for a Westside Community Pickleball Event on Saturday, July 26th at Silverado Park from 8:00 am - 1:00 pm. FOL is partnering with this event by providing volunteers from our church family! Let’s come together to serve, support, connect, and have fun. Your involvement will help to create a joyful and welcoming atmosphere for event participants. Volunteer opportunities include assistance with set-up, registration, lawn games and more. 3. COMMUNITY OF PREACHING PRACTICE
   The next Community of Preaching Practice meeting will be held on Saturday, July 19, at 9:00-11:00 am at the church office at 3707 Atlantic Avenue, Room 25.
   
   
4.  FOL YOUTH POOL PARTY
   This Wednesday, July 16th, FOL Youth we’ll be having a Pool Party! All middle school and high school students are invited – and make sure to bring a friend! It runs from 6-9pm, dinner will be provided, and there will be a lifeguard on duty. It will be a great time of food, fun, and fellowship – youth, you are not going to want to miss it! Location: 4631 N. Cerritos Ave., Long Beach. For more info, talk to James.
   
   
5. PASTORAL PRAYER
   Pastor Kim would love to be able to pray for you. If you have any prayer concerns please let her know by entering your request on this form. You do not need to share your identity - it can be completely confidential if this is your preference. One the primary roles of your pastor, or of any spiritual leader, is to carry you on their heart and to therefore carry you into the presence of God as they pray for you.
