  Father in heaven, we thank you for the freedom you have given us through the life, death and resurrection of your Son. But we confess today that we often live like slaves. Instead of living like you delight in us, we avoid you in shame and guilt. Instead of receiving your favor as a gift, we try to earn it with our efforts. Instead of accepting your freedom, we prefer our chains. Instead of pursuing your purposes, we cling to our short-sighted agendas. Forgive us. Embrace us. Cleanse us. Heal us. ANNOUNCEMENTS 

1. MINISTRY TEAM RETREAT
   We are delighted to invite all folks who are involved in ministry at FOL to our first Ministry Team Retreat on November 14-15, 2025, at Camp Maranatha, Idyllwild, CA for a 24-hour retreat. We have the hope that this will be a powerful time of receiving from the Lord, bonding with our ministry teams, with each other, and enjoying time to play together, plan together and pray together. We also have an amazing band that will lead us in powerful times of worship! Our time together will begin around a meal on Friday evening and continue until an evening meal on Saturday at 5:30pm. The cost of the camp is $164 per person. However, FOL is covering this as part of the member development that was in the budget for this year. 2. BEACH SUNDAY SAVE-THE-DATE
   SAVE the DATE for our church Beach Sunday on September 21 from 10am to 3pm starting with Pancake breakfast, a worship and baptism service, fun on the beach and a lunch potluck. We received our permit from the city to hold the event and we are looking forward to this time to connect. If you are interested in being baptized, you are welcome to reach out to Pastor Kim via Slack or at kim@folcov.org. She’d be delighted to discuss it with you.
   
   
3. THE WELL LUNCH
   Join the Well Women's Ministry on Sunday September 14th after church at the Hangar for lunch. Bring your own lunch or grab something at one of the many options at the Hangar. We hope you can join us!
