  Father in heaven, we thank you for the freedom you have given us through the life, death and resurrection of your Son. But we confess today that we often live like slaves. Instead of living like you delight in us, we avoid you in shame and guilt. Instead of receiving your favor as a gift, we try to earn it with our efforts. Instead of accepting your freedom, we prefer our chains. Instead of pursuing your purposes, we cling to our short-sighted agendas. Forgive us. Embrace us. Cleanse us. Heal us. ANNOUNCEMENTS 

1. BEACH SUNDAY SAVE-THE-DATE
   Join us next week, for our church Beach Sunday on September 21 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. We won't be here at Stephens Middle School! We'll gather at 10:00 next to Rosie's Dog Beach. We'll have a yogurt and granola bar, a worship and baptism service, fun on the beach and a lunch potluck. Please clink HERE to sign up to bring a dish for lunch. If you are interested in being baptized, you are welcome to reach out to Pastor Kim via Slack or at kim@folcov.org. She’d be delighted to discuss it with you.
   
   
2. TURNING GOOD CONVERSATIONS INTO GOSPEL CONVERSATIONS
   On Saturday, September 20, 9-11am, Pastor Kim will lead a seminar on "Turning Good Conversations into Gospel Conversations." The seminar will be held at her new residence: 306 E Cummings Lane, Long Beach 90805. All are welcome! In order to prepare well for this event please RSVP HERE. If you require childcare for this event, please indicate this in the RSVP. If we have enough interest in childcare we will work to create such a service for this event. We will inform all those indicating the need for childcare as to whether this will be made available by September 16. We look forward to sharing this morning of good conversations with you!
   
   
3. YOUTH GROUP
   Parents and guardians of Middle Schoolers and High Schoolers, we invite you to a Parent Zoom meeting on Monday, September 15 at 7:30pm where Sarah Groot will share about Youth Group and the upcoming calendar. Click HERE to access the Zoom link.
   Additionally, weekly Youth Group gatherings will resume on Wednesday, September 17 from 7-9pm at Westside Christian Church. We hope your youth and friends will be able to join! Click on HERE for the flyer.
   
   
4. THE WELL LUNCH
   Join the Well Women's Ministry on Sunday September 14th after church at the Hangar for lunch. Bring your own lunch or grab something at one of the many options at the Hangar. We hope you can join us!
