  Merciful Lord, we confess that with us there is an abundance of sin, but in you there is the fullness of righteousness and abundance of mercy. We are spiritually poor, but you are rich and in Jesus Christ came to be merciful to the poor. Strengthen our faith and trust in you. We are empty vessels that need to be filled; fill us. We are weak in faith; strengthen us. We are cold in love; warm us, and make our hearts fervent for you that our love may go out to one another and to our neighbors. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. 1. NEW SERMON SERIES
   Our new sermon series in Habakkuk has a companion resource titled "My Theodicy".  This seven-week resource is a Personal Reflection Guide for faith encountering the world based on Habakkuk. It provides opportunity for you to meditate on the text after you hear the sermon each Sunday. It invites and guides you into how to wrestle with God over your own heartaches and disappointments and find peace in the process.  This material is available as a google document. 2. MINISTRY IN THE BACK
   Have you ever touched a computer? Looking for an opportunity to serve? If you answered "Yes" to both these questions, then we want you to join the MIB! That's the Ministry of IT Stuff in the Back. Just get past the very forced acronym, and you'll be ready to sit with us to figure out all the different IT things happening in the back during FOL's Sunday services. It's fun and no one really notices your mistakes. Just reach out to Andre or Steve. We appreciate you in whatever way and whenever you can help. Thank you.
   
   
3. MEMBERS MEETING
   Please save-the-date for our next Members Meeting on Sunday, January 25, at 11:45 am, directly following service. The meeting will be held in the auditorium. We hope that you will be able to join us.
   
   
4. MOMS CONNECT
   Moms connect is back and kicking off the new year with a women’s clothing swap on Saturday 1/24. This was such a hit last year with the moms that we don’t want to gatekeep! If you have clothes you want to purge, or if you just want to browse other people’s fashion choices, come to Danae’s house this coming Saturday morning starting at 9. Definitely not coincidentally, Patrick will be at Silverado park for Dads and kids park day at the same time! Chat with Laura or Danae for details.
