CROSSwalk Vision
The central verse for our children’s ministry is Psalm 86:11. “Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth, unite my heart to fear your name.” Our philosophy of ministry flows from the words of the psalmist. In detail, we want our children to learn God’s way. We teach our children his way by saturating them in the Scripture. We train our children to see God’s work in the world by learning the Bible for themselves. We are radically committed to imparting a love and knowledge of God’s word. We want our children to walk in the truth of God. As we consistently teach them the Bible, we teach them faith. They will understand the unmerited, but conditional, relationship with God. They will understand relationship and obedience, not merely being a moral child. We lead them in seeing their sinful state, their desperate need for a Savior and the humbling road of repentance. We have high expectations for the spiritual maturation and conduct of our children as they grow in Godliness. We want our children to have a united heart set on fearing and delighting in our awesome God. We fervently teach our children about the nature of God and that He deserves their respectful fear, deliberate obedience, and wholehearted devotion. We want them to know they are set apart. They are worshippers of the Living One! |
