The Vision

God created More Than Conquerors so that Jesus’ life might reach the Cal State and community college students in the South Bay of Los Angeles. God has great plans for LA and the world, and we believe that the college campus is a central part of his design. The untapped potential of the campus as a mission field is extraordinary. It is not only full of people waiting to hear and respond to the gospel — it is also full of potential missionaries, waiting to hear from God. God created More Than Conquerors to call and develop urban students into becoming mature missionaries for the campus, the home and the city. As we deepen in living God’s love, we will become the leaders Jesus is developing us into.

The Campus
We view the campus as the greatest training ground for young disciples of Jesus. It is on the campus where God teaches us to love Jesus with our minds, love our neighbors with practical service, share our faith and develop deep, lasting relationships with other Christians. As we learn to be fruitful, balanced disciples on our college campuses, we will be uniquely prepared for church and mission work that God has ahead for us.

The Family
God holds the highest regard for family. At the very center of the universe is his own relationship. He calls us into his own spiritual, and our families here on earth are richly blessed by his love and presence. We strive to become servants and leaders for our families through learning to honor our elders and live out Jesus’ model of sacrificial love. We are committed to reflecting Jesus’ teachings of responsibility, integrity, wisdom with money, sexual purity, reconciliation and communication that we might become amazing children, husbands, wives and parents.

The City
The city today needs Jesus. The breakdown of family, the cycle of poverty, the pain of addiction and the threat of gangs and violence are just some of the burdens we all carry. More Than Conquerors is committed to hearing Jesus’ call to be a part of the solution. We are committed to becoming missionaries that will be lights that shine on a hill — and in our neighborhoods, churches, work place and schools. We are committed to teaching the Bible to non-Christians, being active in social justice and allowing God to use us to be a part of the healing of the city.
