  Father in heaven, we thank you for the freedom you have given us through the life, death and resurrection of your Son. But we confess today that we often live like slaves. Instead of living like you delight in us, we avoid you in shame and guilt. Instead of receiving your favor as a gift, we try to earn it with our efforts. Instead of accepting your freedom, we prefer our chains. Instead of pursuing your purposes, we cling to our short-sighted agendas. Forgive us. Embrace us. Cleanse us. Heal us. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

1. MOM'S CONNECT
   Moms Connect will be resuming this Fall starting on Oct 2nd. This group is for any mom with kids 4 or younger. We will be meeting the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Wednesday of every month from 9:30-11:30 at 2325 Seabright Ave. The time will include yummy snacks/coffee, community, childcare for walking kiddos (younger kids can hang with us moms), prayer, and a time of being fed spiritually. Please feel free to invite new moms that you know of to join our group. If you have any questions, reach out to Sarah Jenson 509-554-9911
   
   
2. LOVE OUR CITY EVENT
   On Saturday, October 12th, from 9am-Noon, let’s love and serve our community together. The Long Beach Church Collective is sponsoring another “Love Our City” event. Churches come together from all over our region to love and serve our communities. FOL is leading a West Long Beach Community Alley Clean Up and we’d love for you and your family to join us in blessing the city. There are multiple ways to serve if you can’t make the alley clean up. 3. TUTORING AT FAMILY CENTER
   Tutoring at the Family Center will begin on Tuesday, October 1. We are looking for tutors to help us on Tuesdays or Thursdays. At a minimum, we need 2 more tutors, but we are hoping for 5-6 so that we can serve at full capacity. No experience necessary! If you would like more info, please talk to Tim or send a message on slack.
   
   
4. NO MEETING AT STEPHENS NEXT WEEK!
   A friendly reminder that we will not be meeting at Stephens next week! If you are not going to Family Camp, please feel free to visit another local church. We look forward to worshipping together at Stephens on October 5th.
