Lent & Pledges for the Family Center Renewal Project
Hi Everyone, here is a special message from Pastor Kim about Lent & Pledges for the Family Center Renewal Project:
FOL Family!
We are in Day Twenty-Six of our Lenten Journey. This is a season in which the Church has given itself over to prayer, fasting and alms giving for at least fifteen centuries. As we travel this road we journey with all those who have gone before us and all those around the globe who also seek the face of Jesus. We journey through this season in humility remembering that we are dusty and earthed creatures totally dependent upon the love and mercy of our great God. It is he alone who provides for us - so our eyes are upon him! He is faithful, unchanging and merciful in all his ways.
During the season of Lent, we at FOL, are listening to God to determine what he would have us give to the Family Center Renewal project. $150K has already been designated, from our current budget, to this project. We are now asking the Lord to give us a further $300K. As a congregation we have committed to a special offering that shall be offered to the Lord through pledges that we will make before Palm Sunday.
The pledging process will last for the next 33 months during which we will each commit to an amount we will give monthly. Our giving is anonymous. However, by Palm Sunday, we post our giving amount for each month HERE on a google sheet. There are two columns provided for each donor. In the first column we post the amount that we are pledging to give. In the second column, each month, after we give the amount we have committed to, we record that it has been given.
Currently - 7 individuals/families have made pledges amounting to $84,900. We have only $215,100 to go! As we see the pledges come in we can rejoice in what God is doing among us and about what he is about to do in our Westside neighbourhood!We have a glorious God and his name is greatly to be praised!
