Psalm 36
“Look! Those who do evil have fallen! They are thrown down, never to rise again.”
Psalm 36:12 NLT
Psalm 36:12 NLT
In Psalm 36, David was on the run, with the threat of death hot on his heels. Yet, in the midst of evading his pursuers, he took the time to reflect upon the goodness and greatness of God…The last verse confirmed David’s trust, “Look! Those who do evil have fallen! They are thrown down, never to rise again.” (Psalm 36:12 NLT). David was often in a battle for his life, yet his entire focus was on the vastness of his LORD…And he didn’t flinch in the face of the impossible odds against him.
David’s Psalms often speak of God’s splendor and His backing of David’s triumphs; as I read verses 5-9, I thought, “In the face of such Majesty, how can I not rejoice? How can I keep my praise to myself, and my feet from dancing in worship, when my LORD has already given me the victory?”
When I look for Jesus in every situation; I find my Joy is exponentially increased, even in the face of impossible challenges, knowing my Father won’t fail me…Glory to God!
I’ll never back down, because the Joy of the LORD is my strength, and I’m perfect in Jesus.
