Psalm 117
"Praise the Lord, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples. For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord."
Psalm 117:1-2
Psalm 117:1-2
Psalm 117 is a short and powerful reminder of God's enduring love and faithfulness. Coming out of COVID for me was a very difficult time for finding where I fit in and where I belong. I wanted to feel accepted by my peers. I prayed and talked to our youth leader, James, on what to do. From there I felt God's love on me and how faithful He is to us. This Psalm speaks to me about the love of God, which is so important, especially during the season of Advent where we can all have mixed emotions. The psalm emphasizes that God's love and faithfulness endures forever, which gives me hope and comfort for this next season in highschool. It's like a reassurance from God, reminding me that no matter what, His love is always there for me. By knowing that His love is there for me I don't need to worry about acceptance of others and how people see me because God's love will be there for me and will be there for me way longer than my "friends" in high school.
Psalm 117 says "For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord." really resonates with me. It's a simple, profound message that encourages me to focus on the enduring love and kindness of God, especially during this season of hope and love. This verse reminds me to be grateful for God's love and to share that love with others, spreading joy and peace in the world.
As an 11th grader I find comfort in the message of Psalm 117. It's a beautiful reminder that God's love is always with us, and it inspires me to share that love with those around me. I hope my reflection helps you feel the warmth and reassurance of God's love as we journey through the season of Advent.
